As we embark on this journey, we will strive to touch down on various social aspects, one of them being healthcare and well-being of animals. Stray dogs had always been an issue, further post Covid, dogs were abandoned by their ‘families’, old age and sick dogs were abandoned by their owners and in totality the numbers are on the rise. The helpless souls who were part of families and had a home are now rendered homeless. Wandering in the streets or hiding behind bushes, these dogs can neither survive in the wild nor can they survive on the streets.

Leela’s Place Foundation is one such place where several dogs have been rescued and given shelter to a warm and homely atmosphere. Several of the dogs have breathed their last in the lap of their new found home – surrounded with love and peace. Single handedly carrying the task of providing shelter to the beautiful souls, is Shreela Debi. She is one of us, living among us and someone who took up the task, took the road less travelled and build a world of her own for her ‘children’. She is ‘parenting’ over a hundred dogs at Leela’s Place Foundation, taking care of their comfort, fooding, vaccination and health. She also encourages for the adoption of the rescued dogs, whereby she ensures to do a meticulous back ground and foreground check of dogs who are adopted. Many of them have found beautiful homes to live for the rest of their life.

Leela’s Place Foundation to function and maintain the good work need funds, to maintain the place, to pay to the support staff, food for the dogs, their medications and well being, in all for their benevolent work and also to expand their horizon.
